What You Will Learn

📖 Introduction to Tajweed

  • Learn what Tajweed means and why it’s essential for every Muslim child.

  • Practice Al-Isti‘aadhah (seeking refuge) and Al-Basmala (saying Bismillah).

  • Master Noon & Meem Mushaddadah with correct nasal sounds (ghunnah).

Noon Saakinah & Tanween Rules

Your child will learn the 4 core rules with Qur’an examples:

  • Izhaar (clear pronunciation)

  • Idghaam (merging letters)

  • Iqlaab (changing the sound)

  • Ikhfaa (hiding the sound)

Meem Saakinah Rules

  • Ikhfaa Shafawee

  • Idghaam Shafawee

  • Izhaar Shafawee

📖 Makhaarij & Sifaat

  • The 5 main articulation points (mouth, throat, lips, nose, tongue).

  • The 17 minor points of articulation.

  • Sifaat (qualities of letters) like heaviness/lightness, strength/softness.

  • Qalqalah (the bouncing echo sound).

 

Tajweed Course Requirements

📗 1. Foundational Mastery

Minimum Age: 8 years
Requirements:

  • Familiarity with basic Arabic words from the Quran

  • Ability to recognize and read simple words with support

Focus:
This stage develops fluency and confidence in Quranic reading through gradual progression and step-by-step guidance.


 

📙 2. Intermediate Tajweed

Minimum Age: 10 years
Requirements:

  • Ability to read directly from the Mushaf without assistance

  • Basic understanding of Arabic script and pronunciation

Focus:
Students begin applying core Tajweed rules, improving rhythm, accuracy of pronunciation, and fluency in recitation.



📕 3. Tajweed Application Excellence

Minimum Age: 12 years
Requirements:

  • Strong grasp of foundational Tajweed rules

  • Ability to identify and apply articulation points (makhārij) and characteristics (ṣifāt) of letters

  • Familiarity with stopping/starting rules (waqf and ibtidāʾ)

  • Readiness to practice advanced recitation techniques

Focus:
This stage emphasizes mastery of Tajweed application, polishing recitation with precision, beauty, and spiritual depth.
